Root - Anubias Nancon
Root - Anubias Nancon
The Anubias Nancon, often referred to as Anubias Nangi, is a striking hybrid between Anubias barteri and Anubias afzelii. Known for its compact growth and elegant, elongated leaves, it features a lush green color that brings a sense of depth and tranquility to aquariums. Its leaves typically grow up to 10–15 cm in length, making it ideal for midground placement or as a focal point in smaller aquascapes.
This plant thrives in low to moderate lighting and is well-suited for a wide range of water conditions, with a temperature range of 72°F–82°F and a pH of 6.0–7.5. It grows slowly, requiring minimal maintenance, and does not need CO₂ injection to thrive. Like other Anubias species, it is best attached to driftwood, rocks, or other hardscape elements, as planting the rhizome in the substrate can lead to rotting.
Highly resilient and resistant to being eaten by herbivorous fish, Anubias Nancon is an excellent choice for aquarists of all experience levels, adding long-lasting beauty and structure to freshwater aquariums.
