Detailed Description

Blue Blushing Angelfish

Pterophyllum scalare

A RARE FIND, LIMITED QUANTITIES! The Blue Blushing Angelfish is a stunning freshwater showpiece with a soft, powdery blue sheen and signature “blushing” gill area, where the red tones peek through against its metallic body. With elegant, triangular fins and a peaceful yet commanding presence, this angelfish adds a graceful touch to any tall, planted aquarium.

This variety is selectively bred for both color and temperament. Known for their intelligence and curious behavior, Blue Blushing Angelfish can become quite personable with their keepers over time. They prefer a calm, structured environment with vertical space to accommodate their tall fins and slow, deliberate swimming style.

Temperament: Semi-aggressive (best in groups or pairs)
Diet: Omnivore – accepts flakes, pellets, frozen, and live foods
Care Level: Moderate
Adult Size: 5"–6" body (up to 8" tall with fins)
Minimum Tank Size: 30 gallons (tall tanks preferred)
Water Parameters:
• Temperature: 76–82°F
• pH: 6.5–7.5
• KH: 3–10 dKH

Notes:
• Best kept in small groups or established pairs
• Avoid housing with fin-nippers or overly aggressive species
• Excellent for planted or aquascaped tanks with vertical elements
