The Ivory Mystery Snail is a beautiful and functional addition to any freshwater aquarium. With its smooth, creamy-white shell and active personality, this snail adds elegance while helping maintain a cleaner tank. Mystery snails are great algae grazers and detritus eaters, making them popular with aquarists of all levels.

These snails are active explorers—climbing glass, decorations, and plants—and even surface for air thanks to their siphon-like breathing tube. They're completely peaceful and won’t harm live plants or other tankmates.

Fun Facts:

  • Mystery snails have both gills and a lung, allowing them to breathe underwater and at the surface!

  • Their eyes are located on the ends of long stalks, but they can retract them if threatened.

  • Despite their name, "mystery" snails got that title from early aquarists who were surprised when snails appeared in their tanks after adults laid eggs above the waterline.

  • They are great tank janitors—consuming algae, leftover food, and biofilm.

Diet:
Omnivorous scavengers—enjoy algae wafers, blanched vegetables (like zucchini or spinach), fish food flakes, and sinking pellets. They appreciate calcium-rich foods to maintain healthy shell growth.

Compatibility:
Safe with peaceful fish and invertebrates. Avoid housing with aggressive species or those known to nip, such as certain loaches or puffers.

Care Note:
Mystery snails do not reproduce asexually, so you won't get a tank full of babies unless you have both males and females and allow egg clutches to hatch.

Bring gentle movement and low-maintenance beauty to your aquarium with the Ivory Mystery Snail—nature’s elegant little tank cleaner!
