Root - Bamboo Curly
Root - Bamboo Curly
Curly Bamboo (Dracaena sanderiana), often called "lucky bamboo," is a unique and visually striking aquarium plant known for its twisted, curly stems and lush green leaves. Although not technically a true aquatic plant, Curly Bamboo can thrive in submerged conditions as long as its roots are properly submerged in the substrate or placed in water. It is frequently used in aquariums and terrariums for decorative purposes due to its aesthetic appeal and ease of care.
Curly Bamboo grows slowly, with its curly stalks reaching heights of 12–24 inches or more, depending on the size of the tank and care. It does well in low to moderate lighting and is adaptable to a wide range of water conditions, with a temperature range of 65°F–80°F and a pH of 6.0–7.5. The plant prefers to have its roots submerged while allowing the stems and leaves to remain above the waterline, but it can also adapt to full submersion in aquariums.
Though not a true aquatic plant, Curly Bamboo can be a beautiful and low-maintenance addition to aquariums, offering a unique look and providing some vertical dimension to the tank. It is a popular choice for those looking to add a touch of elegance and a natural, "zen" atmosphere to their aquarium setups.
